I took a few liberties to play with this project. I found this neglected desk at a yard sale for 5.00 dollars. Yep I am the big spender. I get some pleasure from taking a really rough item and making it, well, improved. My favorite is "Did I say thank you " .
This desk before but after I removed the contact paper from the top and did a little cleaning.
It was pretty rough but had so much potential and in my price range.
I chose Southern Honey Jackson black..it like a gun barrel blue black..It goes on smooth and distresses wonderfully. I finished with a buffing of Johnson's paste wax and new pulls (they were 95cents ea).
You do not have to place this one against the wall the back got attention as well.
The fun! I have a few vintage shorthand instruction books. Them with some Modge Podge and the drawers are show offs as well.
I am so happy with the results..Amazing what a sunny day, some paint, glue and elbow grease can turn out.
Hope spring is knocking on your door soon!
