Wearing the Sewing machine...

I seems that vintage machinery was made to be a little more decorative.  Sewing machines were in every home and a sure fire way to appeal to ladies that would leave them out is to make them pretty.  So the era ,of  woman really "making" her home, was a fancy one! .. .And I am one of those strange gals that loves vintage sewing machines.... I own and use a few....

I bought this machine off the truck...BECAUSE it is a Singer..

And it was a mess....no hope in getting this gal going again but she still had all the lines we Singer collectors love....So I stripped her of her pretty parts....and spray painted her....she looks lovely on the porch of the Cave...

One of the plates off of her made this.....

The prism is parts of a chandy...chandelier...a one of a kind pc.  A fun quick project....as well as this bracelet made from the needle plate of a treadle machine...

Another one of a kind item.  And lets not limit this to just sewing machinery....The flat ware gets in on transformations as well!

From the handle of a vintage silver plate knife....

The handles of Forks....

And Spoons....

Why not wear items from an era that detail and beauty were a must!
What a stylish way to go green!
