There is nothing more satisfying than a good thrift run with a great Friend and Neighbor that was followed up with a Sonic Butterfingers Blast and onion rings.
On this excursion I did find some shabby tables that were priced right and had some potential.
I warn you now Smart phone Photo alert....
These were, when new cheaper, brand tables . They had really nice lines and screamed chalk paint. The dilemma was to paint them to match or go with complimentary colors. Complimentary colors won.
After tightening up the tables a bit they were ready to get their make over,
I choose Paris Grey by Annie Sloan for one and Claudie Bell by Southern Honey...Very Different chalk paints but both gave me good results.
They were distressed and then waxed with American Paint Company wax, I chose this wax because it is easy to work with and does not give off harsh fumes. The air was on in the cave and I had no intentions of opening a window.
If you are brave and not the matchy matchy type you can use these together. They really have a Beach feel and would look great in a lake or beach inspired room.
The legs were distressed and waxed as well as the cross bar..I love the curvy details and I am pleased with the out come.
A quick note on the differences in paint. The Southern Honey took 3 coats for good coverage...the Annie Sloan Two . Both paints work well with the spray bottle method to smooth out the brush marks. Both distressed and waxed beautifully.
I hope this inspires you to not look over that shabby little table!
Have a good one!
